Marlo's birthday in San Antonio

Last week I went to help Marlo celebrate his birthday in San Antonio. He really couldn't do it by himself. When I got there Matt was there already. He stopped off for a few days on the road to Utah from Louisiana. It was fun to catch up with him. As you can see we made our traditional trip to Gruene Texas to eat at the Gristmill.

We went to the Nursery to buy flowers to plant in pots around on the porches. We'll see how long Marlo can keep those alive.

On Saturday for his birthday we drove up to Fredricksburg for the day. That is a fun little Texan town that is all little tourist shops and restaurants. We had lunch out on a patio and watched people. That was a fun day and a beautiful drive in the hill country.
Alice sent him a balloon bouquet and a cute flower arrangement that looks like a pina colada. That was so cute Ally. All in all it was another fun relaxing trip to Marlo's house. (I hope he doesn't ever get sick of company!)

I'm a Yellow

Take this test!
You're yellow, the color of joy and energy — two things you definitely bring to everyone around you. It's hard for anyone to be sad or lonely in your presence; your sunny disposition and cheery outlook just won't allow it. The warmth of your personality shines through in the kindness you show friends and family (and strangers, too). Always ready with a lighthearted joke or heartfelt compliment, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, so they can't get enough of you. Yellow is a warm and inviting color for a warm and inviting person — you!

Correction

In case you are wondering if I have lost it....Let me correct the text on Dakota's birthday. Of course I meant to say that easter won't be on March 23rd for another 82 years. Maybe I should edit a little better before I click!

Dakota's 12th birthday

Sunday was a special day. Not only was it Easter, it was Dakota's 12th birthday. He was ordained at church. In the afternoon everyone desended on the Jamie and Deskin's back yard with ham, turkey, salads, and deserts to celebrate the birthday and Easter all at once. We missed those of you that are to far away. Everyone was very generous with the gifts. Here are some pictures of the guitar and guiney pig that he got. Joel did find out that Dakota's birthday won't be on March 23rd for 82 more years. That was a very special birthday Dakota.

I'll never keep up with Shayla but...

Since I love seeing all of the cute baby stuff that Shayla is making, I thought I would show off the baby quilt I am making for BJ, Angelee, and Bella's new baby boy. I haven't quilted anything for awhile so here goes. The fabric on the back is called Minkie. It is so soft and warm!

The guys thought it was funny that we were waiting for them at the golf course in front of the bag drop sign.

We just took a great trip to Kauai, Hawaii. We spent 10 days of fun in the sun. The guys got a lot of golf in and the girls got a lot of sunning and shopping in. We also found time to play tennis and eat at some great restaurants. We went to see the Grand Canyon of Hawaii and most of the waterfalls. We went out on a catamaran and saw so many whales, dolphins and even a few turtles. We had fabulous weather every day which was a bonus!
