Spring Break in Smithfield

For Spring Break this year all of the Neilsens drove up to Tim and Brandi's house for 4 great days of family, food and fun. It was really fun just being together and hanging out. The guys got in two days of 18 holes each. Ashley did everybody's hair. Who ever needed color or a cut just got in line. The weather wasn't great, some days were better than others. If the kids couldn't go outside they played non stop indoors just loving being with their cousins. The boys played on the wii a lot. The girls played Barbie a lot.

On Friday night we had a family soccer game on the soccer field behind Tim's house. We made a fire in their pit and roasted hot dogs for dinner. That was fun and Tim got some of his tree clippings burnt up.

On Saturday we all went to a farm that was having baby animal petting day. It was really fun. The kids got to ride a pony. They had all kinds of baby animals that they could pet and pick up. It was really fun. That night we all went to the pizza place and filled up. On Sunday we all went to Church and then packed up and drove home. We had 21 people staying in Tim and Brandi's house and it all works out famously. It was a great weekend. Thanks Tim and Brandi.....Hope your house survived.

My new project

I'm excited about my new little project. I decided to make up some aprons. This is my first one and it was just fun and easy. I haven't really sewn much for years but I found this pattern when I was in Fredricksburg Texas and thought I would give it a try.

Marlo's birthday in San Antonio

Last week I went to help Marlo celebrate his birthday in San Antonio. He really couldn't do it by himself. When I got there Matt was there already. He stopped off for a few days on the road to Utah from Louisiana. It was fun to catch up with him. As you can see we made our traditional trip to Gruene Texas to eat at the Gristmill.

We went to the Nursery to buy flowers to plant in pots around on the porches. We'll see how long Marlo can keep those alive.

On Saturday for his birthday we drove up to Fredricksburg for the day. That is a fun little Texan town that is all little tourist shops and restaurants. We had lunch out on a patio and watched people. That was a fun day and a beautiful drive in the hill country.
Alice sent him a balloon bouquet and a cute flower arrangement that looks like a pina colada. That was so cute Ally. All in all it was another fun relaxing trip to Marlo's house. (I hope he doesn't ever get sick of company!)
